What Does Interior Design Actually Cost in Jaipur?
This is the question every homeowner and business owner has before starting a project, and it is almost impossible to get a straight answer online. Most articles give vague ranges that are either outdated or not specific to Jaipur.
At Shree Vaidehi Interiors, we have been executing projects in Jaipur since 1999. This is our honest, current breakdown of what interior work costs in 2026.
The Short Answer
A typical residential interior in Jaipur costs anywhere from ₹600 to ₹3,500 per sq ft depending on the scope and finish level. A 1,000 sq ft 2BHK done to a comfortable mid-range standard will usually land between ₹8 lakhs and ₹22 lakhs for a complete fit-out.
For commercial spaces like offices, retail, cafés the range is ₹900 to ₹4,500 per sq ft depending on the category and level of branding involved.
But those numbers mean nothing without context. Here is the breakdown.
Room-by-Room Cost Breakdown
Living Room (200–300 sq ft)
The living room is where most clients want to spend because it is the first thing guests see.
Standard finish: ₹1.8L – ₹3.5L
Refined finish: ₹3.5L – ₹6L
Signature finish: ₹6L – ₹12L+
What this typically includes: false ceiling with cove lighting, flooring (tiles or engineered wood), TV unit, sofa, centre table, curtains, painting, and electricals.
Modular Kitchen (100–150 sq ft)
The kitchen is usually the single most expensive room per sq ft because of the custom woodwork, countertops, and hardware involved.
Standard finish: ₹1.1L – ₹1.8L
Refined finish: ₹2L – ₹3.5L
Signature finish: ₹4L – ₹7L+
What this typically includes: lower and upper cabinets, countertop (granite / quartz / marble), sink, faucet, electrical points, and lighting.
Master Bedroom (180–220 sq ft)
Standard finish: ₹1.5L – ₹2.5L
Refined finish: ₹2.5L – ₹4.5L
Signature finish: ₹4.5L – ₹9L
This typically includes a full wardrobe, bed with headboard panel, dressing unit, flooring, ceiling, curtains, AC, and electricals.
Bathroom (50–70 sq ft)
Bathrooms are expensive per sq ft because of tiling, plumbing, and sanitary ware.
Standard finish: ₹60,000 – ₹1.2L
Refined finish: ₹1.2L – ₹2.5L
Signature finish: ₹2.5L – ₹6L
What Drives the Cost Up or Down
1. Material choices
This is the biggest variable. Vitrified tiles at ₹80/sq ft vs Italian marble at ₹400/sq ft. Commercial ply with laminate vs solid wood veneer. These choices alone can double the cost of a room.
2. Labour quality
Jaipur has a wide range of labour quality and rates. Experienced carpenters and tile layers cost more per day but produce significantly better results. At Shree Vaidehi, we work with the same trusted teams we have built over 25 years, this is non-negotiable.
3. Project duration
Rush timelines increase costs. A project that needs to be done in 30 days instead of 60 requires more workers simultaneously, which drives up the daily labour cost.
4. Site conditions
Old construction with uneven floors, hidden plumbing problems, or weak walls increases civil work costs significantly. Always factor in a 10–15% contingency for surprises in older properties.
What Is Not Included in Most Quotes
Watch out for these common exclusions when comparing quotes:
- GST (18%), almost always quoted exclusive of GST
- Civil / demolition work, often separate from the interior quote
- AC units, installation is included but the AC itself may be extra
- Loose furniture, many quotes cover only built-in carpentry, not sofas, beds, and dining sets
- Design fees, typically 5–8% of project value on top of execution cost
Jaipur vs Other Cities
Jaipur interior costs are generally 15–25% lower than Mumbai or Delhi for equivalent quality and finish. Labour costs are lower, and the local stone, tile, and woodwork industry means shorter supply chains for many materials.
This is one reason Shree Vaidehi is able to deliver projects across India, our Jaipur base keeps overheads manageable without compromising quality.
How to Budget Your Project
Step 1: Define your priority rooms, not every room needs to be done to the same standard.
Step 2: Decide on a finish level per room, Standard (functional and clean), Refined (mid-range), or Signature (premium).
Step 3: Get a detailed BOQ (Bill of Quantities) from your contractor, not just a per-sq-ft estimate. A BOQ lists every line item - materials, labour, and quantities so you can compare properly.
Step 4: Add 15% contingency to your budget before you start. Projects that go exactly to plan are the exception, not the rule.
